Police are investigating a series of water meter thefts in the Redland and Logan regions.

The theft of water meters creates a significant inconvenience to those who are impacted, causing victims to go without water for hours at a time.  These offences are mainly occurring at night to residential unit complexes and business/commercial properties

.To discourage future theft of water meters in your neighbourhood, the Queensland Police Service, Redland City Council and Logan City Council are asking residents to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious behaviours to Policelink or Crime Stoppers using the below listed methods

:• Policelink: 131 444

• Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000

To protect yourself even further, if your home or business has CCTV installed or sensor lights, it is recommended that you try and aim these to focus on the location of your water meter

.If you have information for police, contact Policelink by providing information using the online suspicious activity form 24hrs per day at www.police.qld.gov.au/reporting or call 131 444.

Report crime information anonymously via Crime Stoppers
