Police have charged a 27-year-old man following a string of alleged dangerous driving incidents across the Gold Coast yesterday, June 20

.It will be alleged just after 1pm, a prime-mover truck was being monitored by Polair as it crossed the New South Wales border into Queensland.

Polair continued to track the truck as it allegedly swerved and damaged multiple vehicles along the Pacific Motorway  .A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed just before 1.30pm on the M1 at Currumbin Waters. The truck allegedly drove in the wrong direction along the motorway before coming to stop near Yatala a short time later.

The driver, a 27-year-old Oxley man, allegedly left the scene on foot, and was taken into police custody nearby.  He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital and was released overnight.  

He has been charged with eight offences including four counts of fail to comply with duties of driver involved in a crash and give the drivers required particulars to any other driver and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, wilful damage, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence, possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, failure to appear in accordance with undertaking and breach of bail condition.

The 27-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today, June 21.
