The Phoenix Academy Review
On Friday evening the 21st of June, I witnessed a different light in the world of acting and performing. Students need to learn somewhere and starting at a young age is always a good incentive. ThePhoenix Arts Academy runs programs for students who want to be immersed in the arts of singing, acting and dancing
.The Phoenix Arts Academy is situated at the Beenleigh showgrounds and is a perfect small stage and place for these young talented students pacing out their way into a new career.
Watching these young students learning the art of dance, acting and singing was very interesting and entertaining, ranging from junior, intermediate and senior years. They played out scenes from different movies, like, Little Women, The sisterhood of The Travelling pants and Inside Out, just to name a few. They also performed the actions from the movie Mama Mia to the Abba song “Dancing Queen.”
With the black stage and their black attire everything was a little bland, but all the students proudly took the advantages and opportunities to put the effort into their performances and some of them will go a long way in their future if they keep putting the work in. With no microphones used throughout a lot of the performances, it was a little difficult to hear all that was said sitting up in the back row, but I was comfortable enough and I quite enjoyed the entertainment.“
The little Pixie in the head” poem, by Mika, at the end made the night for me.
